Teleclub de Tao
Village teleclub in Tao (Lanzarote), with homemade Canarian food, millet broth and generous portions.

The Teleclub de Tao is an institution in Lanzarote. Teleclubs began as village social centres and today are neighbourhood bar-restaurants where you eat homemade Canarian food at popular prices. The one in Tao is among the best loved: Lanzarote dishes like caldo de mijo (millet broth), generous portions and often no written menu, you just ask what there is. It opens mainly at midday and closes early, so it pays to arrive in good time. It is Lanzarote's version of the everyday home cooking that in Tenerife you look for in the guachinches.
