sellViewpointsstorefrontIslas24sunny30°C

A viewpoint in the heart of the Tamadaba pine forest, beside the GC-216 road that skirts the Pico de La Bandera, within the municipality of Agaete in north-west Gran Canaria. It looks out widely over the western side of the island. Several walking routes start from the surrounding area, among them the climb to the Pico de La Bandera itself and the classic San Pedro route, which drops down towards Agaete.

Islas24

The mirador sits in the middle of the Tamadaba pine forest, in the north-west of Gran Canaria, next to the GC-216 mountain road. The drive from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria takes around ninety minutes, with the final stretch on winding mountain road. The surrounding Parque Natural de Tamadaba is one of the best preserved natural areas on the island.

Next to the viewpoint lies the Llanos de la Mimbre camping ground, run by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, for which a permit must be requested in advance. Paths of varying difficulty begin nearby, including the ascent to the Pico de La Bandera and the San Pedro route down towards Agaete. Checking the Cabildo fire risk indicator before setting out is advisable, particularly in summer.
