Centro de Arte La Regenta
The Centro de Arte La Regenta is the exhibition space of the Government of the Canary Islands in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Founded in 1987, it is a public institution devoted to the dissemination of contemporary art. Alongside its exhibition programme it runs a Visual Arts Production Space, a documentation centre, lecture cycles and workshops for education and cultural action.
The Centro de Arte La Regenta, on calle León y Castillo in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is the exhibition space of the Government of the Canary Islands in the city. Founded in 1987, it works as a public institution devoted to the dissemination of contemporary art, with its own exhibition calendar and a Visual Arts Production Space that receives exhibition proposals.
Its current programme brings together the photographic show Pilar Aymerich. Memoria vivida, four decades of photography, memory and social commitment, and Geometrías implícitas, residency work by Laura Pilar Delgado. Around these run lecture cycles on contemporary art, urban walks, workshops for children and families such as VeraneArte, Baby Art and Ágora, a documentation centre with bookcrossing campaigns for art books, and calls for international artistic residencies.
