An 1890s lighthouse beside the Maspalomas dunes, open daily from 10:30 to 17:00 with free entry.

Islas24

The Faro de Maspalomas dates from the 1890s and marks the southern tip of Gran Canaria, next to the Charca lagoon and the dune field. It is one of the island's most recognisable landmarks. The site is run by FEDAC, which keeps it open to the public with free entry to the official grounds.

Opening hours are 10:30 to 17:00 every day. The esplanade in front of the lighthouse is a favourite spot for the sunset, and the walks towards the beach and into the dunes start from there, which is how most people extend the visit. With more than 18,000 reviews and 4.6 stars, it is among the busiest places in the south, so expect company late in the afternoon.
