ARTlandya
ARTlandya is a museum of artist dolls and teddy bears that Ingrid and Georg Taupe opened in 2012 on an old farm estate in Santa Bárbara, a rural district of Icod de los Vinos. It brings together more than 600 artist dolls and teddy bears by international makers, its own glass studio, a museum shop and a small bar in a tropical garden with views of Mount Teide and the coast.

ARTlandya, la Finca, lies in Santa Bárbara, a rural district of Icod de los Vinos, on Camino el Moleiro. Ingrid and Georg Taupe, who founded a doll museum in Villach, Austria, in 1993, bought this abandoned farm estate in 2002, restored it and opened the museum here in March 2012. The collection holds more than 600 artist dolls and teddy bears from the studios of international artists, and an exhibition of bears by many different makers fills the old farmhouse.
In the glass studio Georg Taupe has worked with different techniques since 1990, making flowers, angels, pictures, mirrors and handmade glass beads without moulds. The museum shop sells artist dolls by Annette Himstedt, Hildegard Günzel and Wiltrud Stein, along with bears, catalogues and books, and the garden, with its palms and citrus trees, has a small bar with a terrace. To get there, follow the brown ARTlandya signs from the centre of Icod for about 4 kilometres to the car park by the entrance; bus line 358 also runs from Icod to Santa Bárbara.

In Güímar, on Tenerife's east side, stand stepped stone pyramids that have been argued over for decades. The excavation dates them to the 19th century, yet astronomers measured that they face the solstices. Here is what we know for sure, what is still open and how to visit them.
