Jameos del Agua
Natural and cultural site designed by César Manrique inside a seaside volcanic tube.

Natural and artistic space created inside a volcanic tunnel of the Volcán de la Corona, in northern Lanzarote. It was César Manrique's first intervention within the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism, opened in 1968 and completed in 1977, and is designated a Site of Scientific Interest and an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Historic Garden category. It comprises three jameos (Jameo Chico, Jameo Grande and Jameo de la Cazuela) with a pool, a natural auditorium seating around 550, and an underground lagoon about 7 metres deep that is home to endemic species such as the blind crab (Munidopsis polymorpha). It includes the Casa de los Volcanes museum, a restaurant, bars and a shop.
