S-51 Llanos de la Pez - Pico de las Nieves - Degollada de Los Hornos
Circular summit route in Gran Canaria linking Llanos de la Pez with Pico de las Nieves and the Degollada de Los Hornos.
One of Gran Canaria's most cherished summit walks, this circular route begins at the Llanos de la Pez recreational area and crosses the Riscos de Tirajana Natural Monument, passing the Refugio DĂaz Bertrand, Pico de las Nieves â the island's rooftop at nearly 1,950 metres â and the Degollada de Los Hornos. It runs through Canary pine and volcanic rock, with panoramas reaching Roque Nublo, Roque Bentayga and, on clear days, Teide silhouetted above the sea of clouds. A moderately challenging route, it is very popular for both hiking and mountain camping.
