PR-TF 10 Cruz del Carmen - Punta del Hidalgo

sellHiking routesstorefrontIslas24rainy20°C

Classic Anaga crossing descending from the Monteverde forest at Cruz del Carmen to the coast at Punta del Hidalgo via Chinamada.

Islas24

One of the most complete crossings of the Anaga Massif, this trail starts beside the Cruz del Carmen restaurant and descends through the Monteverde forest toward Las Carboneras and Chinamada, a picturesque hamlet of cave houses, before ending on the coast at Punta del Hidalgo along a path carved into the rock. The route packs in enormous scenic contrast: humid laurel forest on the summits, abandoned crop terraces on the mid-slopes and Atlantic cliffs pounded by the sea at the finish. A moderately challenging route, long but very rewarding, essential for discovering rural Anaga.

Sendero Jardina

The Jardina path climbs the northeastern edge of La Laguna, at the point where the farmed Aguere valley gives way to the Anaga Rural Park, a Unesco biosphere reserve since 2015. It runs past vegetable plots, eucalyptus and pockets of laurel forest, with the town spread out behind you. The walking is easy and needs no mountain experience. Parking at the entrance is limited and fills up quickly at weekends.
