Pine forest nature park of nearly 5,800 hectares in the southern mountains of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

Islas24

Parque Natural de Pilancones covers around 5,794 hectares of the southern mountains of Gran Canaria, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The landscape is made up of Canary pine (Pinus canariensis), deep ravines and rocky ridges, and it is one of the least crowded large hiking areas on the island. It has held Parque Natural protection status since 1987.

The main routes start from Ayagaures and from the Fataga side, and a few of them can be linked into circular walks, although most paths are out and back and should be planned that way. Mountain bikes and buggy tours also use the park tracks. There is little shade and no water points along the trails, so the summer heat is felt strongly.
