Escape Room El Cura
An escape room in the Barranco del Cura, between Puerto Rico and Mogán in the south of Gran Canaria, with a single room, Queen's Gambit, set in the world of chess: you have one hour to save Princess Faarasha from a sultan's revenge. It is for 2 to 6 players, you do not need to know how to play chess, and all the information is in English, German and Spanish.
In Queen's Gambit, Sultan Suleiman has been taken prisoner, and his daughter Faarasha is playing for both their lives in a game of chess against Safiye, daughter of Sultan Hassan. Just as she is about to win, Faarasha fails to appear for her final move, and the team has one hour to search her room for clues to her next move. You do not need to know how the pieces move: logic, observation and speed are what count.
The room is for groups of 2 to 6, and at least one participant must be an adult. All the information is in English, German and Spanish. It is run by Mona, from northern Germany, who has lived on Gran Canaria for almost 25 years, and she pitches it as a holiday outing for families and friends, before or after a day at Amadores or Tauro beach.
