Playa La Jaquita
Coastal stretch of Alcalá, in the northern half of Guía de Isora, made up of three small black sand beaches linked by a promenade of some 700 metres. Natural rock pools and sun terraces open up between the coves, with a green strip running along the walkway. Facilities include changing rooms, accessible toilets, showers, a lifeguard and first aid post, a kiosk, a play area and sunbed and parasol rental.

La Jaquita is the seafront of Alcalá, on the northern side of Guía de Isora, a part of the municipality that sees far less traffic than the tourist south. It consists of three small beaches of black volcanic sand, separated by tongues of rock and strung together by a promenade of around 700 metres. Where the rock takes over, natural pools form and act as sheltered bathing spots when the sea is calm. Sun terraces and a band of planting along the walkway round out the site.
Access is from the village of Alcalá itself, so the practical approach is to leave the car in the town and walk down to the seafront. For a place of this size the equipment is unusually complete: changing rooms, accessible toilets, showers, a kiosk, a children's play area and sunbed and parasol rental. There is a lifeguard and first aid post, which matters if you are swimming with children. Look at the state of the sea before getting in, since the rock pools change a great deal with the tide and the swell.
