Playa del Roque de las Bodegas
A black volcanic-sand beach beside the fishing village of Taganana, in Anaga, popular with surfers and surrounded by guachinches serving fresh fish.

Playa del Roque de las Bodegas is a beach of black volcanic sand and rolled pebbles beside the fishing village of Taganana, in the Anaga massif. It is very popular with surfers thanks to its swell, greater than in the south of the island, and it is surrounded by spectacular cliffs that give the whole place a wild, authentic character.
Around it you will find guachinches and restaurants serving fresh fish and papas arrugadas, ideal after a swim. Access is by steps, and you can arrive by public guagua from Santa Cruz for a few euros, a handy way to discover this corner of Anaga.
