Playa de Mogán
Golden sand beach in a sheltered bay at Puerto de Mogán, on the southwestern corner of Gran Canaria, with unusually calm water.
Playa de Mogán lies in a natural bay at Puerto de Mogán, on the southwestern corner of Gran Canaria. A breakwater closes the inlet, which keeps the water very calm, and the golden sand forms a front of roughly two hundred metres beside the harbour village.
The entry into the water is shallow and gently sloping, suitable for swimming and for bathing with small children. The rocky edges offer snorkelling in sheltered water. The beach is reached by car along the southern GC-1 and GC-500 axis, and by scheduled bus. Water temperatures on this southern coast allow swimming throughout the year.
