Playa de Arinaga
Promenade beach at Arinaga, in the municipality of Agüimes on Gran Canaria's east coast, with a fishing-village feel and calm waters.

Playa de Arinaga stretches along the seafront promenade of the fishing village of the same name, in the municipality of Agüimes on the east coast of Gran Canaria. With dark sand and volcanic shingle, it is a beach with a local feel, closely tied to seafaring life and to the long promenade that runs beside it, dotted with terraces.
Sheltered by the Montaña de Arinaga, an old volcanic cone that shapes the coastline, its waters are usually calm and clear, much appreciated for swimming and diving. The Canarian east is a sunny, breezy area thanks to the trade winds, which makes this stretch of coast a pleasant place to stroll, take a dip and enjoy the fresh local fish.
