Piscinas Naturales de Charco del Palo
Sea-water natural pools that fill and empty with the tide, on Lanzarote's northeast coast at Mala.

Charco del Palo, on the Mala coast within the municipality of Haría, is known for its crystal-clear natural pools connected to the sea. It has three bathing areas: two natural pools that fill and empty with the tide and a third one open to the sea, ideal for snorkelling.
Founded in the 1970s, it was the first naturist settlement in the Canary Islands. Its stone terraces let you sunbathe or shelter from the wind, and the water level changes throughout the day with the tides.
Did you know? The village was started around 1970 by the German entrepreneur Gregor Kaiser, and its remote setting at the end of a road several kilometres long is exactly what made this quiet retreat possible.
