El Puertillo
Arucas beach with sheltered natural pools, good for family bathing.

El Puertillo, on the Arucas coast next to Bañaderos, combines a small sandy beach with several natural pools sheltered by breakwaters. Those pools make bathing safer and calmer when the open sea is rough, which makes it a favourite with families. It has a promenade and some nearby dining options. At low tide the pools are easier to enjoy; it is worth checking the sea conditions before going.
Did you know? The name of neighbouring Bañaderos comes from the coastal pools where the ancient Canarians used to bathe, who called this place Airaga, and whose natural salt pans were long used to harvest sea salt.
