Bodegas Rubicón
A historic winery in an 18th-century estate in La Geria, with a tasting of three volcanic Malvasia wines paired with local goat cheese.

Bodegas Rubicón is a winery in La Geria (Yaiza, Lanzarote), set among vineyards grown on volcanic ash. The estate has a documented history going back to 1570, when the Cortijo de La Geria was sold to Luis de Bethancourt.
After the Timanfaya eruptions (1730-1736), which covered the area in ash, vine growing replaced cereal crops and La Geria became Lanzarote's main wine-producing area. In 1979, Germán López Figueras acquired the property and began its restoration.
The winery produces volcanic wines including Rubicón Seco, Rubicón Tinto, Rubicón Rosado, Rubicón Semidulce, Rubicón Moscatel and the Amalia range. It offers guided visits, tastings, a wine shop, a restaurant and private events.
