Jazz & Dance III is a music and dance show that brings together different eras and styles: the Charleston, the Lindy Hop and tap dance. On stage in the Sala Polivalente of Teatro El Sauzal are body percussionist and tap dancer Jep Meléndez, Belgium-based tap dancers and teachers Bára Hrebackova and Joshua “Josh” Hilberman, and musician and composer Kike Perdomo.
Jazz & Dance III is a music and dance show that brings together different eras and styles: the Charleston, with its energetic leg and arm movements; the Lindy Hop, known for its drive and for the interplay between dance partners, who improvised and performed acrobatics; and tap dance, which combines jazz movement with rhythms made by the strikes of the shoes.
Jep Meléndez is a body percussionist, tap and sand dancer, choreographer and teacher who trained in Barcelona and New York. Bára Hrebackova, who trained in Prague, and Joshua “Josh” Hilberman, a student of Brenda Bufalino, Joe “Buck and Wing” Stirling and Paul Draper, teach tap in Belgium. Kike Perdomo teaches modern saxophone and big band at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias. Suitable for all ages; about 70 minutes. Tickets from €8.
