PureSurfSchool Escuela de Surf en Maspalomas
Pure Surf School is a small surf school on San Agustín beach in the south of Gran Canaria, running since 2008. Lessons last about two hours and come as group classes with up to six students per instructor, private sessions, lessons for two or family lessons, with board, wetsuit, leash, insurance and session photos included. They are taught by Ion Sánchez Urra, an ISA-certified instructor and lifeguard, in Spanish, English or French. Boards and wetsuits can also be rented.

Pure Surf School started in 2008 on San Agustín beach, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, with a single longboard, and describes itself as a small school that welcomes beginners and experienced surfers alike. Lessons are taught in groups of up to six people per instructor or privately: one-to-one, for two, or for families of three or four. Each lesson lasts about two hours and includes board, wetsuit and leash, a warm-up and theory, insurance and photos of the session. The exact time of each lesson depends on the tides and sea conditions, and the instructor confirms it in advance.
The instructor is Ion Sánchez Urra, a member of the Canary Islands surfing federation, an ISA-certified instructor and an EU-qualified lifeguard, who teaches in Spanish, English and French. The school also rents out a range of surfboards and wetsuits in several sizes, for two hours or for the whole day, for anyone who prefers to head into the water independently. Lessons and gear can be booked online.
