Puerto Rico Diving Gran Canaria
Puerto Rico Diving is a PADI 5-Star dive centre in Puerto Rico, in the south of Gran Canaria. It offers try dives in calm, shallow water, PADI courses from Open Water to Divemaster, guided dives for certified divers and guided snorkel tours, with a maximum of four students per instructor and a team that teaches in English, Spanish, Italian and French.
The centre is run by Michele (Mike) and Holly, with a team of PADI instructors teaching in English, Spanish, Italian and French. The programme covers try dives, the PADI Open Water, Advanced, Rescue Diver and specialty courses, and a Divemaster internship. Children can do the try dive and the Open Water course from the age of 10, and for 8 and 9 year olds there is the PADI Bubblemaker programme, held in controlled conditions to a maximum depth of 2 metres.
Certified divers visit sites such as the El Cabrón Marine Reserve and Tufia reef, and those who prefer not to dive with tanks can watch the marine life from the surface on a guided snorkel tour. The centre picks guests up from their accommodation in Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, Arguineguín, San Agustín, Meloneras, Puerto Rico, Puerto de Mogán, Taurito, Anfi del Mar and Playa del Cura. Bookings are made online with real-time availability, or via WhatsApp and email, and in peak season it is worth booking a few days ahead.
