Kaboti Surf school Lanzarote
Kaboti Surf is a locally owned surf school based in Playa Blanca, at the southern tip of Lanzarote, in the municipality of Yaiza. It has more than fifteen years behind it and runs daily lessons for beginners, intermediate surfers and advanced riders, with ISA certified instructors and a maximum of eight students per instructor. Alongside surfing it offers paddleboarding, kayaking with snorkelling, wakesurf, camps and rental.
The school chose Playa Blanca over the north of the island for its relaxed atmosphere, its uncrowded waves and easy access to breaks of different character. A session lasts around four hours: a warm-up on the beach, a theory part and a long stretch of water time. Groups do not exceed eight students per instructor, and private lessons and multi-day packages are available. Board and wetsuit come from the school.
Depending on the conditions of the day the school works the south coast beaches, with gentle breaks suited to beginners, the west coast reefs, more powerful and aimed at intermediate and advanced levels, and the classics: Famara, with its long Atlantic beach break, and La Santa, kept for experienced surfers. The instructors are certified and work in several languages. Safety rests on beach briefings, constant supervision and first aid equipment.
