Gran Canaria Water Sport
A watersports operator founded in 2011, with its boats and vehicles based at Puerto Base in Puerto Rico, on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria. It runs parasailing, jet ski trips that you steer yourself with an instructor following in a safety boat, wakeboarding, banana rides, speedboat and private boat charter with skipper, and guided buggy routes inland. The general minimum age is twelve.
Gran Canaria Water Sport has been working in the south of the island since 2011 and is based at Puerto Base, in Puerto Rico. On the water it offers parasailing, with flights on a hundred and fifty or three hundred metres of line for two, three or four people, needing no previous experience and no physical effort; jet ski trips of thirty minutes or an hour along the southwest coast, where you steer yourself while an instructor guides you from a safety boat; wakeboarding; banana rides; and speedboat or private boat charter, always with a skipper. On land it runs guided routes in Can-Am BRP buggies, of an hour and a quarter or two and a half hours, into parts of the island that are hard to reach otherwise.
Every activity includes public liability insurance, life jackets and a detailed briefing beforehand. The general minimum age is twelve and minors must always be with a responsible adult; to steer a jet ski you have to be eighteen, and to drive a buggy you need at least two years of driving licence. Cameras and mobile phones are not allowed on the parasailing boat, for safety. Departures run daily, but the activities depend on the weather at the time and may be changed or called off.
