Alisios Sub Lanzarote
Alisios Sub is a dive centre in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, that heads out every day of the year by boat and from the shore to the local dive sites, and also runs trips to other parts of the island such as Mala and Playa Blanca. It offers try dives, snorkelling excursions and PADI courses from Open Water Diver upwards, with instructors who were born on the island.

Alisios Sub is based on Calle Mesana in Puerto del Carmen and builds its work on safety, fun and respect for the environment; the centre says it is the only one whose instructors are all islanders. Its dives include the Catedral, a cave that is home to Félix, the large grouper local divers know by name; the walls and caves of the Playa Chica drop-off, a Special Area of Conservation in the Natura 2000 network, with the Cueva de las Gambas at about 40 metres; the Blue Hole tunnel; and a site where the remains of up to six wrecks can be seen in a single dive.
The area around El Muellito and the Playa Chica breakwaters is used for try dives, first training sessions and night dives. The snorkelling excursion lasts about two hours, with roughly 45 minutes in the water, mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit, and an instructor with the group throughout. A try dive starts with a briefing at the centre, continues with a dive of about 45 minutes and ends with a souvenir certificate. The PADI Open Water Diver course combines theory, a session in a sheltered cove or a pool and four open-water dives, with a minimum age of 10, and can be followed by Advanced Open Water Diver or the nitrox course.
