The Rastro de Argual is set up on the Plaza de Sotomayor, in the historic hamlet of Argual between Los Llanos de Aridane and Tazacorte. It is a craft and second-hand market ringed by banana plantations and by manor houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. The stalls hold ceramics, basketry, jewellery, wood carvings, ornamental and fruit plants, and the Arte Fuego glassblowing workshop.
The municipal market of Los Llanos de Aridane, still known locally as La Recova, occupies a building from the 1950s in the middle of the town, with columns and rounded halls. Inside, the counters carry fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, spices, wines, pastries and flowers from the Aridane valley. A small bar at the back of the building is well known for its grilled meat and cheese sandwiches.
