Piscinas Naturales "El Caletón"

El Caletón is the set of natural pools at Garachico, formed by the lava flow of the 1706 eruption, the one that buried the harbour that had made the town rich. As it cooled, the basalt left a run of pools and channels that the sea refills with every tide. They are now fitted with walkways and steps, and they occupy the seafront of the historic centre, beside the castle of San Miguel.

Mirador del Emigrante

A viewpoint on the Garachico coast built around the monument to the Canary emigrant, at the Risco Partido. The council's tourism site dates its inauguration to 3 August 1990 and credits the sculptor and poet Fernando García Ramos: a two metre bronze human figure standing on a stone base of the same height, with a plaque alluding to emigration.

Parque de la Puerta de Tierra

A leafy park of exotic species on the Plaza de Juan González de la Torre in Garachico, laid out around the gateway known as the Puerta de Tierra. The municipal tourism site presents it as one of the most picturesque corners of the town: the gate is what remains of the major port that began in the sixteenth century, and everyone and everything entering or leaving Garachico once had to pass through it.
