Mirador de Unamuno
Viewpoint in Artenara, Gran Canaria's highest village, dedicated to the writer Miguel de Unamuno, looking towards Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga.

Mirador de Unamuno crowns the old centre of Artenara, Gran Canaria's highest village, perched in the island's mountainous heart. A monument to the Basque writer Miguel de Unamuno presides over the balcony, from which a panorama of ravines, green valleys and the silhouettes of Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga unfolds in the distance.
The setting is calm and almost meditative, with panels explaining the geology and history of the highlands. It is a regular stop for those touring the interior of Gran Canaria and a spot especially prized at sunset, when the light colours the mountains.
