Jardín Botánico de Puerto de la Cruz
Historic botanical garden in Puerto de la Cruz, founded in the 18th century, with tropical and subtropical species from around the world.

The Botanical Garden of Puerto de la Cruz, also known as the Jardín de Aclimatación de La Orotava, was created in the 18th century to acclimatise tropical plants brought from other continents before sending them on to mainland Spain. Today it preserves a remarkable collection of species from around the world in a shady, well-kept setting.
Among its specimens stands a huge tropical tree with interwoven aerial roots that has become its most recognisable image. The paths through the vegetation offer a calm, shaded walk that visitors greatly appreciate.
