Iglesia de San Juan Bautista de Arucas
Imposing neo-Gothic church of volcanic stone in the old town of Arucas, popularly known as the Cathedral of Arucas.

The Church of San Juan Bautista dominates the old town of Arucas with its neo-Gothic silhouette built from the local blue volcanic stone. Its construction spanned much of the 20th century and earned it the popular nickname of the Cathedral of Arucas for the majesty of the building.
Inside, the polychrome stained-glass windows installed between 1916 and 1928 by the French firm Maumejean stand out, alongside notable sculptural heritage. The church sits amid cobbled streets and beautifully preserved traditional Canarian architecture.
