Museo Municipal de Arucas
The Museo Municipal de Arucas occupies the former house of the Mayorazgo, built in the early 19th century in the Parque Municipal of Arucas, in the north of Gran Canaria. In 1859 it was bought by Alfonso Gourié Álvarez, of the family that founded the Arehucas distillery, and it has been known as Casa Gourié ever since. Today it belongs to the town and houses exhibition rooms, the museum, a hall and a garden.

The Museo Municipal de Arucas is housed in the former house of the Mayorazgo of Arucas, built in the early 19th century on the initiative of the administrator Pedro Alcántara Déniz Miranda, with the backing of María Luisa Castelli, who held the entailed estate. After the estate was dissolved in 1859, the house was bought by the family that founded the Arehucas distillery, which played a major part in the town's economy. The mansion of Alfonso Gourié Álvarez hosted many visiting dignitaries, and it has been known as Casa Gourié ever since.
Around 1947 the municipal council began acquiring part of its gardens, and on 23 June 1948, the eve of the San Juan Bautista festivities, the grounds were opened as the Parque Municipal. The town later bought the rest of the estate, including the house and its rear garden, and in 1976 the rooms of the house became exhibition halls. They show a permanent display of work by Santiago Santana, Manolo Ramos, Guillermo Sureda, Abraham Cárdenes and his students.
