Iglesia de Santa María de Betancuria
15th-century mother church in Betancuria, with a sacred art museum and Gothic, Mudejar and Baroque architecture.

The church of Santa María presides over the historic centre of Betancuria, the first capital of Fuerteventura. Built in the 15th century in Gothic style, it was razed by pirates and rebuilt blending Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque elements.
Its interior holds altarpieces, carvings and a sacred art museum with pieces of great value for understanding the island's faith and history. The church is the heart of one of the most charming villages in the archipelago.
