Sendero de los Roques de García
Easy circular trail looping around the Roques de García rock formations with Teide as a backdrop.
One of the best loved walks in Teide National Park: a loop of about 3.6 km starting beside the La Ruleta viewpoint and skirting the silhouettes of Roque Cinchado, El Torrotito and the Roques Blancos. The first half is nearly flat before descending towards the Llano de Ucanca plain, with constant views of the Teide peak, Pico Viejo and the Las Cañadas wall. It takes a little over an hour and a half and is best done early or late in the day, when softer light warms the colour of the rock and the crowds thin out.
New for 2026: the La Ruleta and Cañada Blanca car parks, right by the start of the trail and the Parador Nacional, have reopened after a year of works. The area has been reorganised with room for around 80 cars and 14 buses, with improved access for people with reduced mobility (lowered kerbs and tactile paving) and clearer signage. The project avoided concrete and used natural volcanic stone from the park itself to blend into the landscape.

Senderos de La Aldea is the network of walking routes in the municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás, in the west of Gran Canaria, promoted by its town council. It gathers more than 300 kilometres of paths arranged in four levels of difficulty, from easy to extreme, across a landscape of pronounced relief. The routes cross mountains, valleys, ravines and beaches within the municipal area.
