Sendero Caldera Blanca (GG-2 Mancha Blanca)
Circular trail across the lava field to the widest crater in the Canaries, beside Timanfaya National Park.
A loop of about 10 km that starts at Mancha Blanca, opposite the Los Dolores chapel, and crosses the lava sea of Los Volcanes Nature Park to Caldera Blanca, the widest crater in the archipelago at around 1,200 metres across. After the trek over the badlands you climb gradually to the crater rim and return around the neighbouring Caldereta, with sweeping views over Timanfaya and the coast. It takes about three hours; the terrain is rocky and the wind up top can be fierce, so good footwear, water and sun protection are essential.
