Peñas del Chache (highest point trail)
The highest point of Lanzarote, 670 m up on the Risco de Famara, reached on foot with panoramic views of Famara and the Chinijo archipelago.
Peñas del Chache is the highest point of Lanzarote, at around 670 metres, on the crest of the Risco de Famara in the municipality of Haría. The Famara cliff drops sharply to the sea, and from this summit opens one of the widest panoramas on the island. The very top is in military use, but the trail lets you walk up to its edges.
The route is a walk across high ridge terrain, with the open air of the escarpment and views taking in the beach and massif of Famara and, beyond, the islands of the Chinijo archipelago. It is a natural viewpoint for anyone after the highest landscape on Lanzarote. Come ready for the wind and bring water and proper footwear.
