Casa Rural Poblado Jirdana I
Poblado Jirdana brings together two houses within a traditional Herreño architectural group more than 170 years old, in the small village of Isora on the central plateau of El Hierro. The restoration followed the advice of the old master stone and timber craftsmen still living on the island, using local stone, old wood from demolition, reused roof tiles, rainwater collection and solar heated water.

The house for exclusive use, dating from the early nineteenth century and sleeping four, keeps the typical Herreño structure: a pitched roof on wooden beams with French tiles, an L shaped plan and dry stone walls between 0.70 and 1.5 metres thick. The ground floor holds the living, dining and kitchen space, the bathroom, an inner courtyard and a garden from which La Gomera and Tenerife can be seen on clear days.
The shared house sleeps six and is arranged in three modules linked by a traditional Canarian stone courtyard, with the living, dining and kitchen area in the main body, a former stable to the north and the hayloft to the south. Every bedroom has its own full bathroom and air conditioning with a heat pump. The houses have an adjoining garden and an information service for guests that runs from booking to the end of the stay. The minimum stay is two nights.
