CASA RURAL FINCA EL BORQUE
Casa Rural Finca El Borque occupies a plot of one and a half hectares two kilometres from the centre of El Pinar, on El Hierro. The building is clad in stone and opens onto the pine wood through large windows, while inside it is a single luminous open space. It offers an equipped kitchen, a living room with a red stone fireplace, a double bedroom and a trundle bed, a bathroom with a shower with views, two terraces, a solarium and an outdoor shower.
The estate takes its name from an old watercourse that crosses it, and stands away from the crowd yet close to the everyday services of El Pinar. The dining area is built around a large marble table, and the kitchen keeps its old wood burning range as a decorative feature. The sitting area is framed by the red stone fireplace and an exposed stone arch, with an indoor swing facing the sunset and a hammock under the Canarian pines.
El Hierro has been a Unesco biosphere reserve for two decades and has more recently been declared a geopark for its geological heritage, with juniper trees twisted by the wind and laurel forest. Its clear waters hide caves, arches, natural pools and seas of lava for divers. The island is reached by plane or by ferry from the rest of the archipelago.
