Albergue Montes de Anaga
A hostel in Chamorga, deep inside the Anaga Rural Park, with nine rooms and a shared kitchen. A direct starting point for walks through the laurel forest.

Albergue Montes de Anaga sits in Chamorga, in the heart of the Anaga Rural Park, within the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It has nine rooms sleeping two, four or six people, and each one is named after a village of the massif: Afur, Taganana, Chamorga and other hamlets of the area. Guests can use the kitchen and the barbecue area, which makes a self-catering stay possible. Booking is handled online.
The location turns the hostel into a direct base for walking through the laurisilva, the laurel forest that lives on the moisture the trade winds leave over the ridges of Anaga. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is close by, as is La Laguna, a World Heritage city, along with the beaches of the massif. Access is by the mountain roads of Anaga, and on the higher ground mist and damp are common through much of the year, so shoes with good grip and waterproof clothing are worth packing even in summer.
The house also runs active-tourism activities in the surrounding area and takes advantage of the massif's low light pollution for stargazing and night-sky observation. The facilities are set up for longer remote-working stays, and guests who prefer not to cook can arrange a meals service.
