XX Encuentro de Siega Tradicional «Diego Pérez» y Ruta del Cerealverified
The twentieth edition of an ethnographic gathering in Icod el Alto: hand reaping with sickles, sheaf-making, loading the mule and a country lunch, preceded by a guided walk through the cereal fields.
Icod el Alto revives its «Diego Pérez» traditional harvest gathering on Sunday 9 August at the Finca de Las Cuchillas from 11:00. This is the twentieth edition, led by reapers from Icod el Alto itself, together with the 2026 Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje fiesta committee and the Rambla de Castro and Icod de los Trigos senior associations.
Before that, from 9:00, the Cereal Route sets off, with advance booking and limited places on 638 068 501. During the day there is sheaf-making, loading of the mule and a country lunch.
The initiative, which aims to keep the island's farming customs alive, is run with Los Realejos town council, the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Fundación Tenerife Rural, the Tenerife Cereal Association (ACETE), the La Trilla equestrian club, La Senda del Bentor and the Rambla de Castro nature centre.
