XIII Festival de Danzas Rituales and closing of the Santo Domingo Cultural Week, La Guanchaverified

On Saturday 24 October 2026, Santo Domingo in La Guancha hosts the XIII Festival de Danzas Rituales, a festival of ritual dances with A. F. Guagime from Lanzarote, the Danza de las Flores from Tegueste and La Guanchería from Tenerife. The evening begins with the official closing of the 51st Cultural Week by the mayor, Alejandro Herrera, followed by the festival, the highlight of an edition that brings Tenerife and Lanzarote together under the motto «Dos islas, un mismo sentir».

The Cultural Week is organised by the Asociación Sociocultural La Costa with the support of La Guancha Town Council. This year's motto is «Dos islas, un mismo sentir» (Two islands, one shared feeling): Tenerife and Lanzarote take centre stage in five days of folklore, crafts, food and popular traditions. The programme does not state the exact venue. According to the town council's 2014 report, the Cultural Week's activities were held at the Centro Cultural de Santo Domingo, on Peatonal La Iglesia, except on the Saturday, when they moved out to the church square. We cannot take this as certain, so it is worth checking with La Guancha Town Council in the days before. Saturday 24 October programme: 19:00, closing of the Cultural Week by the mayor, followed by the XIII Festival de Danzas Rituales with A. F. Guagime (Lanzarote), Danza de las Flores (Tegueste, Tenerife) and La Guanchería (Tenerife). On Sunday 25 the week ends with a thanksgiving mass for the association's late former members.
