Double bill: “Filia et Fobia” & “La Mort”, by La Taimadaverified
Catalan company La Taimada brings a double bill of dance to the Teatro Victoria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, “Filia et Fobia” and “La Mort”: a journey from white to red, from life to death, from collapse to surrender and forgiveness. Two pieces of powerful imagery, directed by Olga Álvarez and Jordi Cabestany, about beauty, fragility and violence in human nature.
“Filia et Fobia” was conceived during lockdown and, through an aseptic, sculptural simplicity, speaks of the need to endure and capture beauty; it is performed by Clio Van Kerm and Marta Pajares Calle to music by Johann Sebastian Bach. “La Mort”, a 20-minute piece, is a stage work on fragility and violence in human nature, built from bodies, movement, performative actions and strongly dreamlike images; it is performed by Angie Mas, Olga Álvarez and Jordi Cabestany to music by Carlos Martorell.
Olga Álvarez and Jordi Cabestany direct both pieces for La Taimada (Catalonia), a dance double bill that moves from life to death and from collapse to forgiveness. General admission is 8 €, with a reduced price of 5 € for Teatro Victoria students and some other groups. This performance is followed by a post-show talk. It takes place on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 19:30.
