Las Desqueridas, by La Decadensiaverified
Andalusian company La Decadensia brings Las Desqueridas to the Teatro Victoria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a comedy built on meta-theatre: in a wrecked room, Carlota and María try to reconstruct the events of the battle and, through dance, humour, music and acrobatics, revisit their own break-ups while breaking the fourth wall. Part of the 24th Circuit of the Red de Teatros Alternativos.
In a wrecked room, two women try to piece together what happened in the battle. Performers María Cazenave and Carlota Berzal break the fourth wall and, in a collage of dance, humour, music and acrobatics, revisit their own break-ups somewhere between confession and parody. The piece uses autofiction to ask, together with the audience, how the play ought to be built, and deals with heartbreak, rejection and a friendship that sometimes disguises itself as rivalry.
