Keroxen Lanzarote brings American cornet player and composer Rob Mazurek to the Cueva de los Verdes, with a set of cornet, electronics and improvisation that explores new sonic territory. Rob Mazurek, an American cornet player, composer and multidisciplinary artist, comes to the Cueva de los Verdes in Haría as part of Keroxen Lanzarote, the festival devoted to sound and audiovisual experimentation. His work crosses free jazz, electronics, improvisation, contemporary composition and the visual arts. In 1990s Chicago he launched projects such as Chicago Underground and Isotope 217, and in 2005 he founded Exploding Star Orchestra, an open ensemble that has brought together musicians including Roscoe Mitchell, Pharoah Sanders and Bill Dixon.
Beyond music, Mazurek works in painting, installation and video, and his work has been shown at the Venice Biennale, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Banlieues Bleues festival in Paris. The concert takes place on Friday 6 November 2026 at 20:00 in the Cueva de los Verdes, lasts 60 minutes, and tickets cost 20 €.
