Indumenta 2 in Las Mercedes: theatre and music about traditional dressverified
A theatre and music show about traditional Canarian dress, directed by historian Néstor Verona, with Mar Gutiérrez, Antonio Conejo and the Parranda El Abuelo folk group. The second part of Indumenta comes to Las Mercedes as part of La Laguna council's tour of its villages and neighbourhoods. Its subtitle is «El regreso del indiano de agua dulce» (The return of the freshwater indiano).
Indumenta 2, «El regreso del indiano de agua dulce» (The return of the freshwater indiano), is the new stage of a La Laguna council tourism project that uses traditional Canarian dress to tell the story of the municipality. It mixes historical research, storytelling, theatre and music: the clothes become a way to talk about trades, the economy, social differences, celebrations and family life in earlier times.
It is directed by historian Néstor Verona, with advice from Dulce Rodríguez de la Rosa, an expert in traditional dress and folklore. On stage are Mar Gutiérrez and Antonio Conejo, with music from the Parranda El Abuelo. The show is on Thursday 29 October 2026 at 19:00, in Las Mercedes. The council has not published the exact meeting point and does not mention a price or registration.
