FICINDIE 2026 closing gala and awards ceremony (El Desleal, La Laguna)verified

The sixth edition of FICINDIE, the Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente y de Autoría de Canarias, ends on Saturday 31 October 2026 at 18:30 at the Sala Cultural El Desleal in La Laguna, its main venue, with the awards gala and the verdict of the international jury. Singer Desirée López Jal-Ladi performs live, and entry is free until the venue is full.

The jury brings together film and culture professionals from five countries: Colombian filmmakers and producers Yull Núñez and Daylin Vega; Panamanian filmmaker Jairo Ramos; Polish filmmaker and journalist Gosia Juszczak; Chilean Soledad Lagos; production designer Bárbara Pérez-Solero for the Federación Nacional Alianza Audiovisual; and, from the Canary Islands, Cristo Barbuzano and La Palma writer and screenwriter Sandra Lorenzo. In the morning, the closing day is devoted to the film industry: at 11:00 screenwriter and writer Tirso Calero presents his book «Winner & Thompson. El cine artesanal de Michael Winner y J. Lee Thompson», and at 12:00 there is a round table with Canarian companies from the sector; the announcement does not say where. The festival, directed by Rumen Justo Reyes, has the collaboration of La Laguna Town Council through its tourism department.
