Red Star Surf
Red Star Surf is a surf school and surf camp in Caleta de Famara, Lanzarote, which has been teaching surfing in the village since 2010. It runs small-group lessons for beginners and intermediates, private lessons and children's lessons from age six, along with kitesurfing and yoga. Its instructors are certified by the Canarian Surf Federation, the International Surfing Association and the Royal Life Saving Society.
Red Star Surf has been teaching surfing in Caleta de Famara since 2010. The school and its shop are on Avenida El Marinero, the village's main road, a few minutes' walk from Famara beach, inside the Archipiélago Chinijo nature reserve. Groups usually have up to five students per instructor and never more than eight, and the four-hour courses include daily video analysis.
The instructors are certified by the Canarian Surf Federation and the ISA, and their RLSS qualification also makes them trained lifeguards. Surf camp packages combine five lesson days a week with a private room in one of the school's surf houses, each with a fully equipped kitchen. The shop rents out surfboards, wetsuits, SUPs and kite gear, and lessons and accommodation can be booked online.
