Fred. Olsen Express, oficina y terminal de embarque en La Palma
On the Avenida Marítima in Santa Cruz de La Palma, the Terminal Marítima houses the Fred. Olsen Express ticket desk and boarding point on the island: passengers buy their passage, board and drive their car onto the ship here. The sea link with Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenerife, leaves from this quay, as does the route that carries on with one call to Gran Canaria, both worked by the Benchijigua Express and the Bencomo Express.
The link with Tenerife covers 126 kilometres without calls and the operator puts the crossing at 150 minutes; the second route, with one call, reaches Gran Canaria in about three hours. The vessels working them are the Benchijigua Express trimaran and the Bencomo Express catamaran. Travelling with a car is possible, and the terminal sets aside a pre-boarding area for customers who bring one.
For drivers, Fred. Olsen Express signposts the LP-2 from the south of the island, the LP-1 from the north and the LP-3, through the tunnel, from the Los Llanos de Aridane area. Around the port there are taxis, buses, car hire, public car parks and places to eat. Foot passengers are given luggage trolleys right beside the vessel, which they can use all the way to their destination.
