Laguna Grande (Zona Recreativa)
The largest recreation area in Garajonay National Park and the main trailhead for hikes to Alto de Garajonay, amid laurel forest and mist.

Laguna Grande is the largest recreation area in Garajonay National Park, at the heart of La Gomera and a World Heritage Site. Surrounded by laurisilva, a damp laurel forest often wrapped in mist, it is a facility with tables and rest areas that serves as a meeting point for those exploring the park.
Several of the best-known trails set off from here, including the climb to Alto de Garajonay, the island's highest point. It is a place to walk among ancient trees, pause for a meal in the open air and venture into one of the last forests of its kind remaining in Europe.
