Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pino
18th-century neoclassical basilica dedicated to the patron saint of Gran Canaria, the island's spiritual and pilgrimage heart.

The Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pino rises in the town of Teror, in northern Gran Canaria, with its neoclassical facade built between 1760 and 1767. It houses the image of the Virgin of the Pine, patron saint of the island, and was declared a minor basilica in 1916, the first in the Canaries.
Plain on the outside but richly appointed within, it preserves a prominent dome, stained glass and a lavishly decorated altar. Teror is a place of pilgrimage all year round, especially around the 8th of September festivity.
