Centro de Interpretación del Geoparque y Vulcanológico
Cabildo-run centre on Canarian volcanism and the El Hierro UNESCO Global Geopark, in El Pinar on the road down to La Restinga. It is laid out in two buildings joined by a short interpretive path. One explains how volcanic islands are born, the other recreates the 2011 submarine eruption with light and sound.

Interpretation centre devoted to the volcanic geology of El Hierro, an island designated a UNESCO Global Geopark. The visit is spread over two buildings, where panels and digital screens explain how the island was formed.
The exhibition focuses on the island's volcanism and on the 2011 submarine eruption off La Restinga, the most recent eruptive episode in the archipelago. An interpretive trail around the centre completes the visit.
There is a shop, accessible toilets and parking, and pets are welcome. It can be reached on the regular bus, line 8, which links La Restinga with El Pinar.
