Sendero del Volcán Chinyero (PR-TF 43)
A low-to-medium circular trail encircling the Chinyero volcano, the youngest on Tenerife, winding through lava flows from the 1909 eruption and Canary pine forest.

The Chinyero loop runs roughly fourteen kilometres around the base of the volcano responsible for Tenerife's most recent eruption, in 1909. The contrast between black lava and the green of the Canary pine accompanies almost the whole walk, which has gentle gradients and plenty of shaded stretches.
It is one of the most walked routes in the island's northwest, waymarked within the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve. Its easy terrain and volcanic scenery make it suitable for families as well as hikers looking for a first taste of Tenerife's upland trails.
