El Cedro - Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes
Trail through the El Cedro laurel forest in Garajonay to the chapel of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes beside the woodland stream.

This trail plunges into the El Cedro forest, one of the best-preserved stands of laurel forest in Garajonay National Park, and leads to the small chapel of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, tucked among the vegetation beside the stream that gives the valley life. The path runs beneath a permanently humid canopy of laurels, tiles and moss-clad tree heath, with the constant sound of water and a very distinctive filtered green light. Set within the municipality of Hermigua, it is a moderately challenging route showing La Gomera's cloud forest at its most intimate and authentic, much loved by nature enthusiasts.
